Hushwillow is operated by Adam Sigel. Questions: hello@hushwillow.com.
Hushwillow is built for parents who care about what their kids hear and see. So here's our plain promise, and the rest of this policy is the detail behind it:
Hushwillow accounts are for adults (18+) who are the parent or legal guardian of the child the stories are for. Children do not create accounts and we do not knowingly let children under 18 register. All information about a child is provided by the adult account holder.
From you (the parent/guardian):
Hushwillow doesn't process payments today. We'll update this section if and when a paid plan launches.
About your child, that you choose to provide:
Automatically:
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
To create a story, we send your child's first name, age, pronouns, story choices, and profile notes to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate the text. To create the name-pronunciation preview and any narration, we send the relevant text to our voice provider (ElevenLabs). These providers process the data to return a result to us.
We share data only with service providers (“sub-processors”) that help us run Hushwillow, under contract, for the purposes above:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic | Story text generation | Child's name, age, pronouns, choices, profile notes |
| ElevenLabs | Name preview & narration | Text containing the child's name |
| Supabase | Database, storage, authentication | Account and child data, stories |
| Vercel | Hosting | Usage/log data |
| Resend | Transactional email delivery | Your email address |
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of a child or other person. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Hushwillow is intended to be set up and controlled by parents/guardians. We collect a child's personal information only from the adult account holder, who provides consent on the child's behalf when they enter it. We practice data minimization, do not condition story creation on providing more than is needed, and do not serve behavioral advertising to anyone.
You can review, update, or delete your child's information at any time from your account settings or by emailing hello@hushwillow.com.
We sort what we store into two buckets and treat them differently. The things you'll want to keep—your children's profiles, the stories you've created, your library, and any audio you've saved—stay with you for as long as your account is open. They're yours; that's the whole point. You can remove any of them yourself, anytime, from your settings.
The behind-the-scenes records our system keeps of what went into each story and what came out are deleted automatically after 60 days. The short preview clip we make so you can hear a taste of a story before you send it is deleted within 30 days.
When you remove a child's profile, you can choose to erase their stories and saved audio along with it. And if you ever want everything gone, just ask us at hello@hushwillow.comand we'll erase everything on our side: profiles, stories, audio, your account, and those behind-the-scenes records. This is usually done within 72 hours.
One honest note about Yoto: once you've sent a story to your Yoto player, that copy lives in your own Yoto account, under your control there, not on our servers. You remove those the way you manage anything else on your Yoto. We only keep information longer than this if the law requires it.
You can access, correct, export, or delete your and your child's information at any time via your account settings or hello@hushwillow.com.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights:
We use encryption in transit and at rest, account-level access controls, and one-time passwords to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat children's data with extra care. Sensitive profile fields are access-restricted by our database's row-level security, scoped to your account alone.
Hushwillow uses providers located in the United States. If you are in the UK/EU, your information may be transferred and processed outside your country under appropriate safeguards.
We'll update this policy as Hushwillow grows and post the new version here with a new date. For meaningful changes affecting your child's data, we'll notify you by email and obtain fresh consent where required.
